If you’re feeling the need for a style update, there’s no time like the present to do it. Whether you go subtle or big, changing up your hairstyle is a great way to get a whole new look, and a whole new perspective too. This fall there are a number of ways to stay on top of the trending styles, and here are just a few ideas to get you started.
Beginning on the longer end of the spectrum, consider adding some well-placed layers. Adding a few wispy bits will give you the perfect tousled look with very little styling effort. Need something more? Add some long wispy fringe, the kind that just grazes your eyes and lets you choose how you want to wear them – side swept, long and full, or pinned back. You’ll have a whole range of looks right at your fingertips.
At the other end of the length spectrum, pixie cuts will be huge this fall and winter. You can opt for a tailored, classic look or go for loads of texture with a shaggy cut. Bangs can be uber short or long and side swept. Go boho minimalist with your makeup or full on feminine – it’s up to you.
In between these two it’s the bob in all its permutations – long and textured, short and blunt, fringe, no fringe – take your pick. In terms of texture, there’s a huge range here as well. With a bob that just grazes your collarbone, consider some barely-there texture to let it move. For super curly hair, ask your stylist to build in layers that will add structure to the style while letting your hair find its natural curl. And don’t forget the sleek, blunt bobs with an arrow-straight part, with or without blunt bangs, which will bring out the classic in everyone.
